No. Contrary to popular belief, sanctions are put in place against those who are formally reported and found proven of misconduct. These include, but aren’t limited to, formal reprimand, temporary exclusion, formal written warning, temporary suspension, permanent exclusion from specified parts of the university, permanent expulsion, depending on what misconduct the individual has been found proven of enacting. For more information, please read our Student Disciplinary Procedure.
Informal resolutions such as mediation are also available as a different form of resolution if the person reporting prefers these options. However, for any formal action to be taken, an investigation must take place. This is why we encourage those who want formal action to be taken to submit a named disclosure through the speak to an advisor option instead of completing an anonymous report.
